A Distinct Identity

The Association of Trail Builders (ATB) brings together all industry partners and aims to advance the trail industry through the definition, update, and sharing of industry standards and good, environmentally sound practices, promoting education and constructive communication amongst parties.

The primary goals of ATB are:

Identify and share good practice in trail building

Promote and advocate ways to design, build, maintain, upgrade and decommission trails that sustain the

environment, enhance the long-term value of trails and make a positive contribution to society

Update and educate in the range of competencies and knowledge that professionals and

non professionals need to be equipped with

Create and help maintain a mutual understanding among all parties involved in trail building, nurturing cooperation and networking and supporting the collaborative fulfilment of the stakeholders’ needs including those associated to recreation and conservation interests
